Dr. Peter S. Watson has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Dwight Group LLP since March 1, 2005. He is engaged in numerous organizations supporting the New Zealand-United States relationship. Dr. Watson served as the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. Overseas Private Investment Corporation from May 2001 to February 2005. Prior to that he was Counsel to Pillsbury Winthrop LLP advising on international business and trade policy matters. Dr. Watson concurrently served as a Senior Advisor to Armitage Associates, L.C. Prior to those appointments, he served as the Chairman of the U.S. International Trade Commission. In addition to his five years on the Commission, Dr. Watson served at the White House as Director of Asian Affairs at the National Security Council. He serves as a Director of BizWorld Foundation. He is a Member of Advisory Board of DB Climate Change Advisors. He is a Member of International Advisory Board of Altimo. Dr. Watson served as a Non Executive Director of the Fluor Corporation. Dr. Watson serves as the Chairman of the Ian Axford (N.Z.) fellowship selection committee, on the board, and as a former Executive Director, of the U.S.-N.Z. Council, on the Board of Visitors of the University of Auckland (U.S.), as a Co-Founder and Chairman of the U.S.-N.Z. Connection/Chamber of Commerce in Los Angeles, which led to his role as the Chairman of the 1984 Los Angeles New Zealand Olympic fundraising committee supporting the New Zealand national team. In addition, he served as a Counsel to the New Zealand Consulate General in Los Angeles, as well as corporations such as Air New Zealand, the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group, and the Bank of New Zealand, among others. Dr. Watson remains a Visiting Professor at St. Peter’s College, Oxford University, at its Annual International Business Programme. He served as President George W. Bush's Executive Branch representative as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and is also on the Board of Visitors for the Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University, and the Friends of Auckland University. In addition, he is a Distinguished Lecturer in the adjunct faculty of Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, and serves as an Advisory Board Member for Georgetown University’s Journal of International Law, AALC, limited company, EarthWater Global, LLC, and Interlink Capital Strategies Inc. Dr. Watson also serves on the boards of U.C.L.A.'s Pacific Basin Law Journal. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Dr. Watson has published several articles and books on international business and trade law, including The Economic Arsenal in the War Against Terrorism in 2002; is the principal author of Completing the World Trading System: Proposals for a Millennium Round in 1999; is a co-author of National Conformity Assessment. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II honored him with the decoration as an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit. Dr. Watson holds a L.L.M. and Doctoral degrees in International Economic Relations from McGill University, and an L.L.B. from Auckland University Law School, which later recognized him with the Desmond Lewis Memorial Prize for International Law.
